The budget accounts for all of the Council’s departmental budgets as well as the whole overall Council budget.
It is an estimate of the Council’s financial requirements and predicted expenditure for the succeeding year.
The budget also takes into account factors such as inflation, tariff changes and taxation revisions.
The Council is required by legislation to set a rate not later than January 31st for the forthcoming financial year. The Council’s financial year is April 1st to March 31st.
