A beacon will be lit in Douglas next week as the capital commemorates a milestone anniversaryof the D-Day landings.


Family members of those who lost their lives during the two World Wars are being invited to pay their respects to loved ones next week.

Three Island charities will benefit from a year of fundraising by the newly elected Mayor of Douglas. 

Douglas City Council is continuing to explore options to refurbish changing rooms at Spring Valley playing fields/Pulrose Pavilion changing area. 

Councillor Mrs Natalie Byron-Teare J.P. will serve a second successive term as Mayor of Douglas. 

Douglas to Welcome Her Majesty Queen Camilla

Douglas City Council will welcome Her Majesty Queen Camilla to the capital next Wednesday (March 20) to formally confer City Status upon the Island’s capital. 

The start of a year marking the 200th anniversary of a worldwide institution has been officially recognised in the Island’s capital.

Douglas councillors have praised staff at the capital’s local authority for ‘pulling out all the stops’ this Christmas.
