Since they first became available the Council’s allotments have proved unfailingly popular, mirroring the resurgence in interest in allotment gardening across the UK.
The allotments are for Douglas residents and are located on Johnny Wattersons Lane, above the Lawn Cemetery.
The Council currently have 96 allotments at Johnny Wattersons Lane, 12 full size allotments measuring approximately 250 square metres and 84half size allotments measuring approximately 125 square metres.
The Council operate an allotment waiting list and vacant allotment plots are offered to the next person on the waiting list

How much will my allotment cost?
The annual charge for a full size allotment plot from 1st October 2024 to 30th September 2025 is £170.60 to be paid in advance by direct debit.
The annual charge for a half size allotment plot from 1st October 2024 to 30th September 2025 is £86.00 to be paid in advance by direct debit.
Will I have to renew the lease on my allotment?
No, the tenancy will automatically renew annually on 1st October every subsequent year at the annual rent set out for that year until this agreement is determined.
A deposit is payable by new tenants, £200.00 per full plot and £100.00 per half plot.
