Douglas Borough Council’s Henry Bloom Noble (HBN) Library has launched a free eAudiobook app called BorroxBox to the Manx public.

Douglas is celebrating after being awarded ‘city’ status by Her Majesty the Queen as part of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Douglas Borough Council has announced further details about its new domestic waste collection strategy. Designed to upgrade environmentally-responsible waste management, the aim is to encourage everyone to reduce, re-use and recycle as much as possible.

Douglas Borough Council is getting behind #WorldBeeDay2022 with an event in Regent Street in the capital to raise awareness.

Ms Janet Thommeny has been elected to serve as the Mayor of Douglas for the 2022-23 municipal year.

 

Members of the Council voted unanimously to elect Ms Thommeny at the annual Council meeting this afternoon (Wednesday).

Douglas Borough Council has confirmed that Noble’s Park Fun Day will be taking place on Saturday 6th August between 12pm and 4pm. The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is continuing its support for this long-running event as title sponsor.

For only the second time in more than a decade, there will be no organised Tower of Refuge walk this year.

Two dedicated members of staff who have each contributed more than 40 years’ worth of service in the capital have been officially recognised.
