An opportunity to experience a 191-mile walk from the comfort of the Henry Bloom Noble Library was provided when Alex Eaton gave a talk on the coast-to-coast walk from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood’s Bay in Yorkshire devised by writer and artist Alfred Wainwright.
The Manx Junior Harriers race walker and keen hiker shared his experiences of the walk he has completed twice; the first time taking 14 days, the second time, 12.
