More than 50 amateur sleuths packed out the Henry Bloom Noble Library on the evening of Saturday September 7 when award-winning crime writer Martin Edwards hosted a 1920s murder mystery evening - Murder at the Manor.
Dan Davies, Stephanie Gray, Bob Harrison and Beth Espey played out the mystery, after which Martin Edwards signed copies of his latest book, Gallows Court and hosted a Q & A session.

Among the audience were best-selling Peel crimewriter Alan Bradley, along with Harry and Angela Pickard from the Bridge Bookshop.

Mr Edwards recently received the CWA Dagger in the Library, awarded by UK librarians, for his body of work and has just been nominated for the fourth time for the CWA Short Story Dagger. He is president of the Detection Club, consultant to the British Library’s Crime Classics and former CWA chairman.
