On Tuesday May 28 the Mayor and Mayoress welcomed representatives from Huntington's Disease Isle of Man. Formed in May 2017 the charity aims to raise awareness and provide a support group for those living with the disease, carers and health professionals.
HDAIOM chairman Helen Martin said: ‘We were delighted to be invited to visit the Mayor and Mayoress as it was great timing, with May being Huntington’s Disease Awareness Month. It was a wonderful evening and very interesting to hear about the history of Douglas Council and previous Mayors. The Mayor and Mayoress were both lovely, very warm and welcoming and we would like to thank them so much for their hospitality.’
