Council introduces new online Building Control service

Douglas Borough Council has introduced a new online Building Control service.

 

 

The development is in support of delivering on the Council’s Corporate Plan’s objective to drive Improvement in the use of technology, information and data.

 

 

Environmental and Regeneration Committee Chair Councillor Ritchie McNicholl said: ‘The new digital service we have introduced is in response to customer survey feedback. It’s more efficient and environmentally friendly, given that it is paperless, so does away with the need to submit bulky hard copy documents; it also allows the Council’s Building Control Officers to view plans electronically while on site. In short, the new online service makes for an easy-to-access, streamlined system for dealing with what is a complex process.’

• Property search requests and fee payments;
