Rock star: Mayor of Douglas organises nativity rocks competition

Wednesday, 08 November 2017 07:42

Her Worship the Mayor of Douglas, Councillor Debbie Pitts JP, is busy making a set of hand-painted ‘nativity rocks’ characters which, starting on Thursday November 23 - the day when she will be switching on the Christmas lights in the evening - she will be hiding at well-known locations around Douglas operated by Douglas Borough Council. She is inviting children to seek out the rocks - nine in all - and return them to Douglas Town Centre Management’s office at 13 Church Street, where they will be rewarded with a selection box and a donation of £50 to the Manx charity of their choice sponsored by the mayoral charity appeal fund.
