The Mayor and Mayoress were guests of the Isle of Man Chinese Association on the occasion of the association's fourth anniversary. Central to the celebrations was the traditional lion dance.
Held at the Palace Hotel and Casino, guests also included the association's patron, Geoff Corkish MBE MLC, Home Affairs Minister the Hon Bill Malarkey MHK and Isle of Man chief constable Gary Roberts, who joined the association's honorary life chairman Jenny Zhou, honorary chairman Phyllis Waugh and current chairman Robert Lee along with committee members.
The Isle of Man Chinese Association was established in 2013 to promote Chinese culture and to help to integrate the Island's Chinese residents into the wider community. From its early days of setting up classes in Mandarin the association has grown and is now involved in many aspects of Island life.
