The Mayor and Mayoress welcomed Commodore Gary Doyle, RN, naval regional commander for northern England and the Isle of Man, to the mayor's parlour on Wednesday November 23.
Commodore Doyle took up his post in 2015, succeeding Commodore Dickie Baum who held the role for five years.
Commodore Doyle's naval career has included operational service in nine Royal Navy warships.
