Ahead of the Remembrance Sunday service and parade, His Worship the Mayor, Councillor John Skinner JP, hosted a reception for visiting service personnel.
The occasion provided the opportunity for Major Terry Riley, Royal Artillery 12 (Minden) Air Assault Battery, who was in the island with a detachment for the Service of Remembrance, to present the Mayor and Mayoress with a print of Captain F Macbeans Company, 1st Battalion, Royal Artillery at the Battle of Minden, August 1, 1759, for welcoming and hosting the detachments from the artillery for Tynwald Day and Remembrance Sunday.
