At the prize presentation in Douglas town hall, hosted by the Mayor of Douglas, Councillor Sara Hackman, Regeneration and Community Committee Chairman Councillor John Skinner congratulated the children on their ‘absolutely wonderful’ efforts which had made judging such a challenge.

His sentiments were echoed by Denzil Williams, a director of RL360, sponsor of the Best Overall School Daffodil, who said the students had shown ‘great creativity’ before he presented the winner, 10-year-old  Ben Walmsley from Henry Bloom Noble (Fairfield site) School, with the trophy and £100 of book vouchers for his school.

The prize for the Overall School Best Decorated Pot, sponsored by Gregory and Moore Logistics Training Services went to nine-year-old Rosch Hughes from Cronk y Berry School.

For the competition the Council’s parks services provided bulbs and growing material to the borough's primary schools.
