The Tower of Refuge, also known as Conister Rock, sits in Douglas Bay – originally built to aid sailors whose ships had run aground on the surrounding rocks.

The RNLI is a registered charity dedicated to saving the lives of those in trouble at sea and was founded in the Isle of Man by Sir William Hillary.

Douglas Head is a grassland area, home to the Camera Obscura and a wealth of footpaths and open land.
