Floats are central to any carnival and we’re sure the people of the Isle of Man will rise to challenge and create some truly outstanding examples.’

Town centre manager Michelle O’Malley said: ‘To have this generous sponsorship from the Steam Packet opens up all kinds of fundraising opportunities, with entrants perhaps choosing to donate their prize money, should they be among the lucky winners, to their preferred charity. We are truly delighted that the Steam Packet has come on board the carnival.’

For float entries application forms are required, but not for bikes or individuals in fancy dress or costume.
