Eastern District Civic Amenity Site introduces new disposal charges

New disposal charges are to be introduced at the Eastern District Civic Amenity Site to bring them in line with all other sites in the Island.

 

With effect from June 2nd 2014 the charges will be:

 

• Standard fridge (up to 85cm high x 60cm wide x 62 cm long) £12 (down from £14.42);

• Larger fridge (up to 172cm high x 54cm wide x 56.5cm long) £15 (down from £19.14);

• American fridge (wider than larger fridge) £25 (no change);

• PC monitors £6.50 (down 50p);

• TVs £8 (no change).

 

Additionally the 2.2m height restriction barrier is to be removed on Wednesdays from 2 to 6.45pm during the summer operating season, April 1st to September 30th.

 

BillMalarkey MediumChairman of the Eastern District Civic Amenity Site Joint Committee Councillor Bill Malarkey (pictured) said: ‘The Committee is keen to encourage the responsible disposal of household goods Island-wide. To this end we have been forging closer productive links with the operators of all the other sites in the Island.  It is against this background that we have brought our charges in line with them and users will be pleased to note that the changes have resulted in no price increases.’
