MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB


An opportunity has arisen for Douglas Borough Council to take on an Apprentice Gardener. If you are interested in developing a career in gardening then we would like to hear from you. 

You must be enthusiastic, reliable, motivated, practical and eager to learn. You should have good written and verbal communication skills, including the skills of listening and following both simple and complex instructions.

 

In return we will train and develop you in a range of horticultural and grounds maintenance skills. You will assist various teams providing excellent customer service to residents of Douglas and visitors to the Islands capital.  The apprenticeship means you will learn ‘on the job’ and will enrolled and study for an NVQ in horticulture at the University College Isle of Man (UCM).
