Resumption of Kerbside Recycling in Douglas and Braddan

The kerbside collection service for recyclables will resume on Monday May 18 in Douglas and on Thursday May 21 in Braddan.

Initially the service will be for glass bottles and cans only, and we would request that both materials be rinsed and placed in separate boxes.  The reason for this temporary change is to eliminate the risk of handling material which could be contaminated with the virus.  Having boxes contain a single material type enables the content to be tipped direct in to the hopper without needing to separate by hand.

For plastic and paper, please note that in the short term these can be disposed of at the IOM government's bring banks, a list of which can be found here.

Householders should refer to their recycling calendar to find out when their collection is due.
