Close-up call: Carnival entrants wanted for promotional film

Thursday, 23 March 2017 14:55

Douglas Borough Council is looking for Carnival entrants past and future interested in appearing in a film to promote this year’s event on Sunday July 16.

Filming will be on board the Steam Packet’s Manannan and in Douglas town centre and will start at 9.30am on Wednesday April 5.

Regeneration and Community Committee Chair Councillor Stephen Pitts said: ‘What better way to get the Carnival “party” started well in advance than with a film capturing the sights, sounds and colour of this great community event.

‘Every year Douglas Carnival features a “cast of thousands” who delight the crowds and create a truly fantastic atmosphere, so we’re inviting some of those seasoned participants along with new entrants to take part in the film and help to make this year’s Carnival the best yet.’

If you’re ready for your ‘Carnival close-up’ and would like to appear in the film, contact Danielle Atkinson, 696313,

Closing date for applications, Friday March 31.
